Breastfeeding is essential to a baby’s health, since it is the sole source of nutrients for the first 6 months of a baby’s life. Breast milk contains a range of proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals, all of which come from the mother. If the required amounts are not present in the mother’s diet, then her bodily stores will be depleted. For this reason it is important that the mother’s diet contains sufficient amounts of essential vitamins and minerals, both for the health of the mother and the baby. Herbal teas can help supplement the mineral intake of breastfeeding mothers.

Directions: Start taking after birth or when required. Enjoy 2-3 cups daily as a nourishing, mineral rich health drink. Suitable throughout the lactation period This soothing tea can be given directly to babies with digestive discomfort: 5ml (1 teaspoon) cooled, 3 to 5 times per day.
Advice: Use as directed. At the recommended dosage clinically relevant herb-drug interactions are not known.
Preparation: Take 1 teaspoon (1g) per cup (175ml), place into infuser, plunger or tea pot, pour over boiling water and infuse for 5-10 minutes.
