The Monarch Butterfly is New Zealand's largest butterfly, with large orange, black-marked wings (span 80-100mm) but it is not a native. The Yellow Admiral Butterfly is a native to New Zealand and is easy to recognise because of the yellow patches on each of its fore-wings.
